Kathy Lewis Retires from Lane-Scott Electric
Kathy Lewis began her 34-year career with Lane-Scott in 1991 as the cashier. Prior to Lane-Scott, she worked at the First State Bank in Healy and Lane County Implement. It was not long before she was promoted to Office Manager in 1993.
Over the 34-years she said she’s worked with a lot of really great people and is going to miss the co-workers and daily conversations. Kathy recalled a few of the more memorable co-worker moments. There was a loud squeal, and they saw where Naomi Conner had been, there were only papers flying everywhere. Naomi had apparently missed her chair as she was sitting down!
She said the oneriest co-worker award definitely goes to Vic Torson. He was always up to something. One of the more memorable pranks was sitting back down at her desk after returning from the printer and finding Vic hiding under it. She said she was thankful for wearing pants that day!
During retirement, Kathy is most looking forward to having time to spend with her kids and grandkids, traveling, hiking, and having the freedom to do what she wants, when she wants. Though for those who know Kathy, know she will most likely have a Franklin Day Planner not too far away!
“Find your work/life balance early in your career," she advises. "Always remember at the end of the day you can be replaced, but your family can’t.”
Thank you, Kathy for all your years and dedication at Lane-Scott. We wish you the very best in retirement!
