LSEC Offers $500 Scholarships
Lane-Scott Electric believes in educating the leaders of tomorrow. For this reason, Lane-Scott will offer two $500 scholarships to those pursuing a career in the electric utility field.
- Scholarship applicants must be a senior or high school graduate planning to further their education in the electric utility field. They must be enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited university or college including junior, community, vocational or technical college.
- Scholarship merit is based on G.P.A, achievements, extra-curricular activities, community and school involvement without regard to race, age, color, religion, gender, national origin, or existence of a physical handicap.
- Anyone may apply, but preference will be given to those in the Lane-Scott Electric Cooperative service territory and the City of Dighton.
The scholarship committee will make selections based on the previously mentioned criteria. Each applicant must be willing to be interviewed by the committee.
The scholarship recipient will notify Lane-Scott Electric of their enrollment by completing the Lane-Scott scholarship disbursement information form, which can be downloaded on our website, along with a letter from the accredited college verifying enrollment. The cooperative will then submit payment to the institution in two installments, one-half for first semester and one-half for second semester. Should the recipient withdraw from college, payment of the scholarship monies shall cease, and reimbursement of unused monies shall be made to Lane-Scott Electric.
