Automatic Payment

Lane-Scott Electric’s AUTOPAY option allows the amount of your monthly electric bill to automatically be deducted from your bank account.  There’s no check to write, no payment to mail, no more forgetting to pay – and best of all, AUTOPAY will cost you nothing.  In fact, you will save money and time – no check writing costs, no postage expense, and more time for you!

Here are some things to keep in mind when using AUTOPAY for your Utility Bill Payments:
  1. Continue to pay your bill as usual until you see “Do Not Pay-This will be paid through Auto Pay” in the message section of your bill.  If your bill is blue, the payment will come out of your bank account around the 3rd day of the month.  If your bill is green, the payment will come out of your account around the 18th day of the month.  This message indicates that the application process has been completed.
  2. We require written notification in our office at least two weeks prior to your “due date” to cancel an automatic payment.
  3. Automatic payments returned by your financial institution due to insufficient available funds will be treated the same as a return check and will be subject to a return check charge.  In addition, this automatic payment agreement may be subject to immediate cancellation.
  4. Refusal of payment by your bank may result in delinquency status, which could lead to disconnection of your electric meter.
